A workshop for care providers.
In this workshop we will be discussing what it means to be an informed ally to the diverse families we serve.
We will dig deep into the ways that our society fails and even harms these families during pregnancy/gestation, birth and parenting- and what you can do to help.
We will be going beyond inclusion and helping you lay the foundation of mindfulness and harm reduction that your LGBTQIA+ clients deserve.
I want to help you confidently provide positive, empowering and affirming support to all families during their path to parenthood.
Are you ready to do the work and show up for these families in a way that creates lasting change?
This workshop is appropriate for doulas, midwives, childbirth educators, lactation professionals, newborn care specialists, OB/GYN, nurses, massage therapists, yoga instructors, nannies and anyone who wants to provide care and support to LGBTQIA+ people in pregnancy and beyond.
Class materials, suggested reading list, local and online resource lists will be provided for you to take home. Please bring a notebook for note taking.
Snacks, coffee and tea will be provided but please bring a light lunch, there is also L. Georges Coney next door if you would like to pick up food during the break.
Potluck is also always encouraged but not expected- sharing food is a love language!
